Firewall Operations Contractor
Job Description Job Description Major purpose:
This position will perform day-to-day administration of Palo Alto firewalls, such as general permitting/blocking, troubleshooting & packet captures, creating or editing policies, and scheduled (and off-cycle) policy commits.
Major responsibilities and duties:
Will be translating requests from firewall approval process submitted by IT users into appropriate least-privilege rules in firewall.
Perform rule access validation and troubleshooting requests as needed.
Performing, scheduling or automating (if possible) twice-weekly after-hours (7pm) policy commits.
Performing proper change management documentation and network diagram/flow updates as appropriate.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of administration and troubleshooting experience with Palo Alto Firewalls in an enterprise environment.
Packet capture experience and analysis of packet captures in relation to firewall troubleshooting Additional Job Requirements Candidate must have strong operational and configuration skills with Palo Alto, Panorama specifically.
Cisco ASA nice-to-have Cloud firewall (AWS) experience helpful.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
