Responsibilities:
The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for all payroll tax activities. The Payroll Tax Administrator ensures all payroll tax transactions are in compliance with company policies, as well as, all state and federal requirements. Discretion must be exercised in the Payroll Department as when processing or discussing wages, benefits, job status, or other compensation. The Payroll Department is committed to never missing a payroll and thus requires teamwork and commitment from all members of the team at all times.
The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible reconciling payroll tax reporting after each pay run to ensure accurate filings by the tax service provider. This includes being a source of reference on the payroll taxes, providing instructions on various procedures; notifying personnel of procedural changes and acting as a liaison between Payroll and the payroll vendor. The Payroll Tax Administrator is expected to stay current on enhancements, issues, trends, and legislation that may affect payroll tax filings.

The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for the centralized payroll tax reporting, in compliance with all applicable laws. This includes: monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings. Coordinating the printing and filing of W-2s with the payroll vendor.

The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for reconciling payroll taxes to the general ledger and preparing journal entries. Payroll Tax Administrator is also responsible for reconciling cash activity to the general ledger.

The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for reconciling payroll reports to the 941s and W-2s.

The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for supporting Payroll Associates and managers at plant, mill, and corporate locations, on sensitive matters relating to the payroll taxes. This includes providing resolution to issues communicated via the Help Desk system, by phone, fax, e-mail, or in person.

The Payroll Tax Administrator is the liaison with outside vendor for monitoring unemployment rates. The Payroll Tax Administrator will liaison with internal departments for payroll tax related issues.

The Payroll Tax Administrator will also be involved in special projects and research as needed. The Payroll Tax Administrator will also gather and report requested data to internal and external recipients.

The Payroll Tax Administrator is responsible for: knowing and following the policies and procedures of the company; for sharing information that would benefit other members of the team; for finding ways to improve the delivery of service to internal and external customers; helping protect the financial assets and operations of the Company.

Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
4
years previous work experience in multi-state payroll operations with a solid understanding of payroll tax-reporting.
Strong attention to detail

Preferred
Qualifications:
Previous processing experience with Ceridian, or similar payroll operating system.
FPC or CCP (Fundamentals of Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional) certification a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
