Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with the ability to work independently with educators to ensure quality nursing care for special education students in the school environment.
Candidates should possess an active RN license in Illinois, CPR certification and 2 or more years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
Additional essential skills include time management to balance clerical and clinical priorities, interpersonal skills to communicate with families and staff effectively, and the confidence to occupy a position as a primary healthcare support for students and staff.
DUTIES:
The school nurse is required to work as a member of a team to carry on our tradition of excellence in special education.
In particular the nurse serves to modify or remove health-related barriers to learning by promoting an optimal level of wellness for students and staff.
The school nurse is responsible for providing the following:
Medication administration including consultation with families and physicians On site support for chronic health conditions including diabetes and seizure disorders First aid in event of an emergency or injury Maintenance, review and reporting of school health records Consultation with administrators in maintaining health and safety for students and staff SALARY/
