The Chief Sustainability Officer will lead the Company's Enterprise Sustainability Office and work with a variety of stakeholders to develop, execute, and promote the Company's sustainability goals and objectives. This position will report to the Company's Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. The CSO will be an integral part of the Company's extended ESG leadership team and will be responsible for the environmental pillar of the Company's ESG programming. Duties/
Responsibilities:
Lead Brunswick's Enterprise Sustainability Office which is responsible for developing, embedding, tracking, and reporting on the Company's sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction goals. Work with stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering, facilities, and supply teams, customers, investors, and regulators to develop, communicate and manage the Company's sustainability and decarbonization programs. Establish processes and tools to promote, communicate, and implement Brunswick's sustainability initiatives and decarbonization goals. Lead external reporting process for sustainability programming and work with reporting and rating agencies to communicate priorities, programing, and progress. Coordinate with investor relations with regard to investor communications and reporting. Assess and analyze company policies and processes to identify areas in and processes to which improvements can be made consistent with sustainability and decarbonization priorities. Draft and implement organizational policies as necessary. Identify and implement strategies to address environmental concerns including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, and general education on sustainability. Collaborate with engineering and technical teams on new product development programs to reduce emissivity of the Company's products; track and report program impacts. Draft and prepare reports, presentations, and proposal regarding sustainability and decarbonization programming, present proposals and recommendations to the executive team, board of directors, and other key stakeholders. Develop and maintain appropriate documentation and reports, including progress trackers, KPIs, budgets and other related material. Maintain current working knowledge of sustainability frameworks, environmental reporting and rating entities, and environmental laws, and regulations. Identify and facilitate training as needed. Required Skills/Abilities:
Passionate about sustainability. This role will require outstanding cross-functional leadership, collaboration, operational, and planning skills, and a strong understanding of (or ability to learn), and ability to communicate about, relevant issues in sustainability and climate policy. Ten or more years of experience working as an operator and leader with experience with designing, launching, and running business functions or programs. These do not necessarily need to be sustainability-related, but sustainability training and experience is preferred. Expertise with science-based targets accounting and processing a plus. Prepared to become an expert in, domestic and international climate and sustainability issues, frameworks, public policy, and networks. Ability to craft vision and strategy and make it come to life with actionable plans. Motivated, independent, and creative problem solver experienced in building a persuasive case and shepherding important projects through an organization to get things done. Interdisciplinary and flexible partner with experience executing across diverse content areas and company departments, which may include strategy, engineering, facilities, supply chain, marketing and more. Bachelor of arts or science degree in related business, science, or engineering field. Excellent written/oral skills. Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
Operations Management, Environmental Health & SafetyEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
